Big Things Poppin'

Nine months ago Suelyn Medeiros was relatively unknown, going to college and planning to become a doctor. A chance appearance in Aventura's music video for their song "Los Infieles" led to her world changing almost overnight. Since then, this Brazilian beauty with an amazing work ethic has appeared in numerous videos and projects, and is well on her way to becoming the next big Latina video vixen.
BRIDGEZ: Tell me about Suelyn, where you're from, etc.
Suelyn: I was born in New York, but I have traveled to Brazil pretty much every summer since birth. My dad is a general contractor, so we moved around quite a bit. My family went wherever my dad was working. I have lived in California, Texas, Florida, New York, and Brazil.
BRIDGEZ: What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Suelyn: I never wanted to be a model. I did some acting when I was about 15 years old on a Brazilian soap opera, and I also competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant. But I couldn't continue because my family had to move. I didn't mind because I wanted to make it because of my brain and not my looks. I wanted to be a doctor; I like seeing blood and studying the dynamics inside of the body. I was a little bit tomboyish as a child, so all of this glamour stuff is relatively new to me.
BRIDGEZ: Wow, so young and so talented. How did you get into modeling?
Suelyn: A friend of mine who is a famous Brazilian designer asked me to walk the runway on fashion week in 2006. From there I was scouted by some agencies, and from there everything snowballed.
BRIDGEZ: Tell us about some major projects that you have been in.
Suelyn: I was in R. Kelly's "I'm a Flirt," in Snoop Dogg's "Pass That," in Remy Ma's "Conceited," and in Chris Brown's "Wall," just to name a few.
BRIDGEZ: You also do runway modeling. Ever get nervous up there?
Suelyn: Not at all. It's such an adrenaline rush, and it goes by so fast that it's over before you know it. I try to work the hell out of the last outfit because I get kind of sad when it's all over.
BRIDGEZ: What has been the craziest experience for you so far in your career?
Suelyn: I recently had my hand in the sand at a beach photo shoot and a crab bit my finger. It's probably not the craziest, but it's the most recent.
BRIDGEZ: Now, on a more serious note, Brazilians are said to be some of the freakiest women on the face of the earth. Is there any truth to that?
Suelyn: Yes. I mean, I haven't met them all, but it's safe to say we do the damn thing.
BRIDGEZ: So how does a man get your attention?
Suelyn: By being himself. I like men to be manly, the no-nonsense type. At the same time, I don't want someone to fake it for me. It has to be real.
BRIDGEZ: What do you wear in bed?
Suelyn: Nothing, even when I'm alone. The less clothes, the better.
BRIDGEZ: I agree. Clothes are overrated. In your opinion, the best part of your body is . . .
Suelyn: My lips. With them I can give and receive.
BRIDGEZ: It's amazing how eye-to-eye we are on a lot of things! To switch gears for a second, what are you currently working on?
Suelyn: I am doing a short for HBO called The Five Brothers. I am also working on a movie in Europe in which I am the lead.
BRIDGEZ: You should always lead, Suelyn. It's refreshing that you're not just a pretty face. You can really put it down.
Suelyn: I can put it down, get it up, and keep it up (wink).
