Have You Met...

RIP Tony Silver

February 1, we lost one of the greatest contributors to the graffiti movement, Tony Silver. Tony, along with Henry Chalfant, was responsible for arguably the most important of media ever produced around graffiti, Style Wars.

Not only did he produce the seminal work, he was a constant supporter of the movement and enjoyed seeing what others were up to. He was always a joy to meet with and hang out with.

Tony was an inspiration to Susan and myself when we worked on Art Crimes together (I'll tell that whole story some other time, but probably not in a blog).

The New York Times just published his eulogy.

Enjoy the movie, courtesy of Google Video, but you should pick up a copy of the DVD for all of the extended footage they made available with it.
