Have You Met...

HELLO BROOKLYN!!!

"We be doing it up BROOOOOOKLYN STYLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" This weekend, the GF, the best friend and I took a little field trip to the Planet of Brooklyn to go see the Takashi Murakami exhibit at the Brooklyn Musuem. I love Brooklyn, even though I'm from Manhattan but what's not to love about BK. It's the home of Juniors Cheesecake, Spike Lee, B.I.G and Jay-Z, plus I went to college there (L.I.U. in the house!) But I still wouldn't rock a Brooklyn tee, UPTOWN BABY! Anyway, As expected there was a pretty long line to enter and see the exhibit but it was well worth it. As soon as you walk into the front of the museum you're greeted by one of Takashi's sculptures. It's like a Japanese anime psychedelic dream come to life. As I reach into my bag to get my camera and take a snap shot, I was stopped by the phrase "NO PICTURES" from a museum employee. Which now meant, I had to secretly take pics of the exhibit while my camera dangled over my shoulder in hopes that the autofocus worked and my pics came out clear. I say all that to say, the exhibit was amazing and inspiring. I felt like a kid in a land of make belive wondering around and feasting my vision with some delicious visual eye candy. Exhibitis like this one helps me put things into persepective for myself and gives the determination to create exciting and insperational work. Check out some my pics but I suggest you go see the exhibit for yourself. PEACE!
