So it’s official, this week the writers went on strike. So this means that your favorite TV show will go on rerun. But honestly, a lot of these shows are so bad they would probably do better without writers. I mean who’s writing for the new Caveman show? In a nutshell, it all comes down to money. The writers are not getting enough and the Producers don’t want to give up anymore. But if you thought the writers are the only one thinking of strike, think again.

In the Broadway Theatre world another potential strike may just be around the corner. Over what you ask? Over money, what else? In this case the Producers feel like they don’t need as many stagehands and want to start cutting jobs. Stagehands have been working without a contract and they do not want their job cut down and negotiations have been on going. If they don’t come to an agreement soon, a strike could take place for the Thanksgiving weekend which is a busy time for broadway.
Translation? Broadway producers are about to loose a lot of money. Now I ask you, do these strike really work? If so, Latinos let’s reunite and have our own strike. How about a “brown out” were Latinos all over the industry stop watching and/or participating in showbiz until we see a change. Now that George Lopez is gone from ABC, how long will it take to get another all Latino successful show on the air. I guess I can’t complain I mean after all we do have Ugly Betty, but even then it doesn’t really have a strong Latino voice or point of view. But I’ll take what I can…you go America Ferrera.
