Staying on the runner kick I was talking about in my last post, this next shoe is from a company you may not have heard of but definitely has storied history and a fan following and so does their collaborator in this project.

Saucony (pronounced sock-a-knee) has been around for ages creating running performance sneakers since the beginning of the 20th century. This year they are celebrating their 110th Anniversary of creating footwear, which hopefully means more and more releases of classic runners. For this shoe they collaborated with David Z, a staple in the New York downtown scene and footwear industry for quite awile as well.

The shoe of choice is the Saucony Courageous and was designed by David Z buyer Ronnie Fieg. Run Away is the theme and it is meant to represent running away from the norm. Both colorways feature silver foil, speckled paint on the mid-sole, and the theme of the collaboration on the back panels.

These will be available at the David Z flagship store with a limited run of 144 pairs and will be available on Friday, May 2nd. If you are not in the area David Z will also release 24 pairs on their website, www.davidz.com.
